What to expect during your initial consultation.

The initial patient consultation is the visit where the Advanced Respiratory and Sleep Medicine medical specialists get to know you. This is the most important step in ensuring you receive high-quality, efficient care. We will gather a detailed history of symptoms, medical history, current medications, family history, and environmental exposures during this visit. In addition, our specialists will perform a physical exam and review vital signs.

Previous medical records will be reviewed, and if necessary, our staff will communicate with your referring providers or other members of your healthcare team. Finally, a personalized diagnostic and therapeutic plan will be determined specifically for you. Your questions will be addressed, and our office staff will begin to implement the plan.

A remote patient consultation may be an option.

While we prefer this visit to take place in person, certain conditions can allow this visit to be done remotely. This visit will probably take at least one hour and, in some cases, may take multiple hours. The consultation time can be shorter if you complete the required forms before your appointment time.
